Next summer can come: 45 flights per week from 5 airlines to 9 destinations, including a new holiday destination, Djerba (Tunisia). At the start of bookings for the next summer season, Saarbrücken Airport publishes its flight schedule with popular travel destinations.
Spain remains the frontrunner among holiday destinations: Palma de Mallorca with 14 flights/week and Fuerteventura and Las Palmas on Gran Canaria with one flight/week each, closely followed by Antalya and Izmir with a total of 11 flights/week. So, Turkey remains the second pillar of SCN holiday flights.
New to the summer flight schedule is the holiday island of Djerba near the Tunisian coast, which is known for its picturesque Mediterranean beaches and will in the future be served weekly. Also the accessibility of another popular island will be improved: the flight frequency to Heraklion on Crete will be raised from two to three flights/week.
May 2024 is the month of special flights at Saarbrücken Airport. Three offers are available exclusively from Saarbrücken: With Faro on the Portuguese Algarve and Paphos on Cyprus, Horst Becker Touristik GmbH from Spiesen-Elversberg is opening. And with Tirana, the up-and-coming holiday region of Albania is offered for the first time with a special flight from the tour operator Mundo Reisen GmbH.
`The available summer connections from Saarbrücken Airport assure its attractiveness for travelers in the next year,` says Mobility Minister Petra Berg. `Holiday destinations that would else imply a longer journey to Frankfurt or other airports can also be reached comfortably and quickly from Saarbrücken.`
`Saarbrücken Airport offers many exciting destinations for every interest next summer. Newly available in summer is the holiday island of Djerba. But also Turkey with its offers for every budget remains very popular. With the offers tailored to the needs of our passengers and the attractiveness of the regions served, we are confident that also the coming summer flight schedule will be well received by travelers,` said the airport´s managing director Thomas Schuck.
And also the domestic destinations Berlin (11 flights/week) and Hamburg (3 flights/week), that are of special importance to companies and city tourism, are not neglected. Here, the existing offers remain.
The summer flight schedule is valid from March 31 to October 24. It includes flights and package tours that can now be booked.
